Connoisseur Estates partners with CellarVino for first joint tasting

Published:  09 October, 2017

Specialist importer Connoisseur Estates has joined forces with long-term collaborator CellarVino to host their inaugural portfolio tasting together.

The tasting took place last week at CellarVino’s sister company The Auction House in Luton, where the two companies showcased their wines side by side.

Connoisseur Estates, which specialises in boutique producers, showed wines from Bodega Volcanes de Chile, Tinto Figuero from Spain, Gauchezco Wines from Argentina, Woodchurch from Kent and Champagne Autréau, among others.

The trade tasting also marked the overhaul of CellarVino’s portfolio over the last two years to include over 300 wines from 10 countries and over 60 regions.

“We have been working with CellarVino for some time and it made sense for us to join forces to host our inaugural portfolio tasting together,” Connoisseur Estates director Andrew Steel said.

“The event was a great success with over 100 customers attending and many new leads established.”

CellarVino is a family-run wholesaler and importer established in 2000 and is now one of the UK’s largest independent wine distributors.

Several owners and export directors from key wineries headed to the UK for the tasting including Dan Taylor of Tohu & Aronui wines from New Zealand, Luca Botter of Vinicola Botter producers of Di Maria Prosecco, Thys Lombard of Oldenburg Vineyards from South Africa, Rob Mackinlay of Marabino from Sicily and Christina Baker of GRM Bordeaux.
