Royal Tokaji releases 2007 single vineyard wines

Royal Tokaji has released the 2007 vintage of its six Puttonyos single vineyard wines.

These little gems have historic connections from a classification that dates back to 1700 and the 2007 vintage is claimed to be one of the best. Royal Tokaji's single vineyard Aszú collection comprising wines made from hand-picked grapes from five historic vineyards.

I tasted the second growth Birsalmás (rrp £45), which was full of voluptuous and succulent peach, pear, quince and honey, but with a lean flash of acidity and a lingering refreshing finish.
