The team behind Masons Yorkshire Gin are holding their first cocktail competition since their launch in 2013, with the winner launching their own limited edition batch of the spirit under the Masons label.
The competition, which will allow entrants to use all editions of gin, is open to the trade only and will be held across four heats in Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Birmingham followed by a final which the winners of each area will present their cocktails.
The overall winner who will be given the opportunity to work closely with Masons' owner and founder Karl Mason and Master Distiller Gerard MacKluskey to launch an limited edition batch of Mason's Gin with a minimum bottling run of 220 bottles.
The brief is to create a cocktail that reflects the style of Masons Gin, taking into consideration its heritage, where it's made, the story, branding and flavour profiles.
The competition judges will include Karl Mason alongside industry stalwarts.
"We're incredibly excited to launch our first cocktail competition. The reaction to our gin in the on-trade has been fantastic and we want to reward the creativity we've seen over the years," Mason said.
"Masons Gin was built on originality and creativity and I can't wait to work with the winning bartender to create a limited edition bottle."
