Octavian secures new Percy Fox logistics deal

Published:  23 July, 2008

Logistics company Octavian has been awarded a five-year contract to handle the entire portfolio of Percy Fox and Justerini & Brooks across the UK.

Octavian will manage the warehousing and delivery to both the UK on- and off-trades, servicing major retailers, wholesalers and the cash-and-carry sector, from a new 80,000 sq ft warehouse in Leicester.

The new unit will be co-managed alongside Octavian's existing Leicester site, and the J&B business will continue to operate from Octavian's existing locations in the West Country. All of Justerini & Brooks' private client stock will be held in Octavian's underground cellars in Corsham, Wiltshire.

Rob Ferguson, commercial director at Percy Fox, said: We have worked successfully with Octavian for many years, primarily in its operation in the West Country, where Percy Fox has been handled alongside Justerini & Brooks.

We were very keen to retain the experience that Octavian and Percy Fox have gained from working together and by continuing with Octavian, albeit in a new location. We are pleased that we have been able to achieve our overall objective.'

Octavian's managing director, Michael Lainas, added: We are delighted to have been able to extend our long-term relationship with Percy Fox for another five years.'
