The Gin Guild has announced details of its third annual Ginposium one-day event.
The advanced seminar will feature some of the world's gin experts sharing their knowledge and expertise with the trade.
Speakers at the event include Emma Hibbert from Adnams; Robert Furse from UKTI; Mark Gamble from Union Distillers; Bernard Gormley from Nude Design; Professor Katherine Smart from SABMiller plc and the Institute of Brewing & Distilling; Dr Anne Brock from the Bermondsey Distillery; Miles Beale from the Wines & Spirits Trade Association; and Joanne Moore from G&J Distillers.
The extensive range of topics under discussion will include everything from technical aspects of production - such as the influence of different base spirits on gin and the effect of different botanical fixatives - to the launching and marketing a new product and the importance of the designer bottle in the promotion and sale of craft gin.
Other areas addressed by speakers include key trade issues such as the export market for gin and what regulatory challenges and opportunities lie ahead across both the UK and EU, as well as food pairing with gin.
Tutored tastings will focus on the subjects of terroir and innovation.
Visitors will also be invited to attend The Worshipful Company of Distillers City debate on craft spirits and their influence on the market, and will be eligible for a discount on Bermondsey Distillery's one-day distilling workshop on May 11.
The Ginposium will be held at the London Transport Museum in London's Covent Garden.
