New wines, vintages and designs lined up for Mercado Andino tasting

Winemakers from Chile and Argentina are gearing up to release new wines into the UK market at next month's Mercado Andino super-tasting in London.

Winemakers from Chile and Argentina are gearing up to release new wines on to the UK market at next month's Mercado Andino super-tasting in London.

The event features the two Wines of the Beautiful South countries without South Africa as it takes a break from the triangular tasting event to focus on the Cape Wine exhibition at home.

Argentina's Familia Zuccardi will be showing its new range of single vineyard wines for the first time, including Finca Pierda Infinita 2012.

San Huberto is using the event to launch a premium brand called Nina and using the event to look for an on-trade distributor. Its wines are already sold in the off-trade by GM Drinks and its Malbec Reserve is sold by Majestic.

La Consulta region producer Angulo Innocenti Wines is releasing Nonni Malbec 2014 and Unisono, a 2013 blend, for the first time, and will be showing the 2013 vintage of its Angulo Innocenti Malbec.

Susana Balbo Wines will introducing new packaging for its Crios range of varietals.

New releases from Andeluna include 1300 Sauvignon Blanc - the name a reference to the height above sea level of the vineyard - and a Chardonnay called Altitud.

Achaval-Ferrer is exhibiting the 2012 vintage of Quimera, a blend of 50% old vine Malbec, 24% Cabernet Franc, 16% Merlot and 8% old vine Cabernet Sauvignon.

Achaval-Ferrer is represented in the UK by Corney & Barrow.

Mercado Andino features over 1,000 wines in all and takes place at Old Spitalfields Market on September 9 and 10.
