Diageo has signed up as one of five official corporate partners for a massive street party to mark the Queen's 90th birthday next summer.

Pimm's and Tanqueray gin supplier Diageo has signed up as one of five official corporate partners for a massive street party to mark the Queen's 90th birthday next summer.

The event will see The Mall in London transformed into a street party for the Patron's Lunch, an event which will also showcase the Queen's patronage of over 600 charities and other organisations.

It will take place on June 12, 2006.

Diageo has four subsidiary companies which hold royal warrants: Justerini & Brooks, Tanqueray Gordon & Co, John Walker & Sons and The Pimm's Company.

All Royal Warrant brands will be served to guests on The Mall and available to the general public at nearby sites in Green Park and St James's Park.

Ed Pilkington, marketing director for Diageo Europe, said the company was "thrilled" to be part of the event.

He added: "Through our royal warrant holding companies' products we have a long heritage of supporting key British moments.

"Pimm's in particular has been synonymous with British street parties, summertime, sunshine, and having fun for many decades."

The other companies with official partner status are Boots, Marks & Spencer, Unilever and BT.
