The Grafton in London wins Pub of the Year in Great British Pub awards

The Grafton in Kentish Town, north London, has been named the Pub of the Year in Harpers' sister title, The Publican's Morning Advertiser's Great British Pub Awards held last night.

The Grafton in Kentish Town, north London, has been named the Pub of the Year in Harpers' sister title, The Publican's Morning Advertiser's Great British Pub Awards held last night.

The pub was the outright winner, chosen from all the 17 winners of different categories in the overall awards, at a ceremony at London's Hilton hotel on Park Lane.

The Grafton is an Enterprise lease pub run by Susie Clarke and Joel Czopor and was chosen for having kept its traditional roots whilst also modernising the business to offer a whole range of events, themed nights and special attractions. Clarke and Czopor won the Best Partnership award as well as Pub of the Year sponsored by Sky.

Other highlights from last night's winners included:

Best Food Pub: Pony & Trap, Chew Magna, Bristol

Best Wine Pub: One Bull, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

Best Spirits Pub: The Office, Brighton, Sussex

Best Cider Pub: The Apple, Bristol

Best Cellar: The Red Lion, Barnes, London.
