Berry Bros & Rudd and Roberson win Independent Merchants of the year at IWC 2014

Berry Bros & Rudd and Roberson Wine were named Large and Small Independent Merchant of the Year at last night's International Wine Challenge awards dinner.
Berry Bros & Rudd and Roberson Wine were named Large and Small Independent Merchant of the Year at last night's International Wine Challenge awards dinner.
It was to prove to be a highly successful night for Berry Bros & Rudd as it also won the overall highly coveted Merchant of the Year (see IWC Merchant Top Gongs story).
The main agent of the year awards went to Liberty, named the IWC's Large Agent of the Year, followed by Indigo Wines, Small Agent of the Year. Liberty Wines also won the On-trade Supplier of the Year and the Trade Wine Merchant of the Year.
Other key merchant awards went to:

- IWC Wine Educator of the Year: Bibendum Wine Ltd
- IWC Wine Club of the Year: The Wine Society

Charles Metcalfe, co-Chairman of the IWC, said of the merchant awards: "The IWC is dedicated to celebrating not only excellent winemakers but also wonderful wine merchants. The awards were presented at London's Grosvenor House hotel last night.
