The Rum Experience University course, which offers a diploma in all-things rum, will now take place annually after the success of its first programme in September.
Global rum ambassador Ian Burrell set up the Rum Experience University, a four-day course offered in Andalucia in the south of Spain, near Europe's last remaining rum distillery Ron Montero.

The first course, which sold out, took place in September 2013 and Burrell is offering a second course from 7 to 11 September 2014 in the same location in Salobrena.
The area, near the famous Ron Montero Distillery, founded in 1963 by Francisco Montero, offers students an insight into the production, history, blending and distilling of rum, thanks to excursions to the distillery, local sugar cane fields and the Pre-Industrial Sugar Cane Museum.
The University offers instruction on how to speak effectively in public, how to prepare and execute a rum presentation and what makes a world class cocktail. 2014 will see the return of some of the drink industry's leading figures including Jared Brown and Anastatia Miller, cocktail historians and authors; Richard Seale, distiller at FourSquare in Barbados, and great grandson of the original RL Seale; Belgian food scientist Bernard Lahousse; Jeff "Beachbum" Berry, the author of five books on vintage Tiki drinks and cuisine and Michael Don-Smith, business consultant, NLP trainer and personal development coach from the UK.
Ian Burrell, global rum ambassador and founder of the Rum Experience and UK RumFest, heads up the programme. "It took a lot of time, hard work and planning to launch The Rum Experience University this year and I am so pleased that it has paid off and created a hugely successful experience and education for all those who attended."
Places on the course are now available and cost £899, with more details on the Rum Experience University website.
