Celebrate Day of the Dead with Jose Cuervo tequila

Published:  15 October, 2013

Jose Cuervo has joined forces with Selfridges to celebrate the Mexican Day of the Dead festival.

The tequila brand has launched limited edition bottles to coincide with the traditional festival of remembrance, which takes place on November 1-2, and is planning several informative workshops for consumers in London, as well as tasting activity in Selfridges and themed window displays.

The sampling activity will take place from October 23 to November 2 in Selfridges' food hall and the window displays will see the Day of the Dead meet Christmas, with iconic skeletons dancing alongside a Santa skeleton in a sleigh pulled by deer skulls.

The interactive consumer workshops will be led by artist Lauren Baker and will allow consumers to learn about the history of the festival and the Jose Cuervo story, as well as having the opportunity to sample the tequila and paint a skull to take home with them.

Jose Cuervo brand ambassador Gabriela Moncada said: 'The essence of this beautiful ritual is to lovingly remember relatives that have passed on and give meaning and continuity to the human condition. As an authentic Mexican brand, Jose Cuervo is a suitable guardian for this grand celebration!'

The free consumer workshops will take place at Wahaca, 19-23 Charlotte Street, London W1T 1RL on November 1-2 from 10.30am. Places are limited, so email josecuervo@nyloncommunications.com to be in with a chance of securing a place.
