This Ukrainian Coffee Vending Machine Was Turned Into a Vodka Dispenser
Tax inspectors in the south-eastern city of Melitopol, Ukraine are looking for the owners of a converted coffee machine that dispensed vodka that was installed in the middle of the town centre, according to a report on a local television channel.
The vodka vending machine accepted bank notes and coins and for the equivalent of 59p it would dispense a shot of vodka and also offered a range of fruit juice mixers as well.
Ukranian authorities were not amused and in an effort to stop the machine being used they taped up the payment slots whilst they tried to find out who was responsible for installing the machine. You can watch a local TV report of the illegal vending machine by clicking the video link above.

Many Eastern European countries are seeing a rise in the illegal production of vodka which is having a serious knock on effect on the legal vodka market which is now in decline. Legal vodka production, for example, in Russia plummeted 28.3% in the first six months of 2013 compared with same period last year, according to figures released by Russia's State Statistics Service.
