Environmentally friendly Nicolas Feuillatte

CVC-Nicolas feuillatte has been awarded ISO 4001 for its environmental management practices. The programme required an investment of FFr25 million over three years with half spent on building an independent treatment plant due to open in 2001. The protection plan involves: identifying the impact of its Champagne production on the environment - water and energy consumption, disposal of waste; risks prevention (water, soil pollution);and environmental crisis management. This means: * controlling water consumption by implementing its own technological solutions; *controlling energy consumption by using better energy sources in a cost-effective way (natural gas for petrol); *sorting out rubbish; * sourcing out better recycling services; and * managing its water and waste products through its own treatment plant. CVC-Nicolas Feuillatte is also talking to its suppliers about recycling or reducing packaging waste.
