Leading Languedoc producer Les Vignobles Foncalieu is planning to increase its UK investment to grow its Côtes du Rhône share further.
In 2012 more than 26,000 bottles of Foncalieu Côtes du Rhône were sold in the UK, largely to the on-trade, representing 3% of global sales.
The range of four typical wines comprises mostly Syrah and Grenache - all classified AOC. The Côtes du Rhône range is bottled in simple bottles, which clearly show the Côtes du Rhône origin.
The range boasts wines such as Réserve de l'Abbé, Réserve du Crouzau and Mazets de St Victor (rrp £5.99-£12), which all reflect the authenticity and richness of the region.
"The profile and quality assurance of wines from the Côtes du Rhône provide our UK-based customers with peace of mind that they are getting value for money," said Marie-Annick
Consola, UK on-trade manager. "Foncalieu's technical department is committed to sourcing high-quality products that are distinctive and reflect the values of the Côtes du Rhône region."
The UK is one of the leading distributors for the Côtes du Rhône range. UK stockists include: Stevens Garnier, Winegrowers Direct and Hennings Wine Merchants.
