FINAL PLANS FOR BEER WSET

Published:  23 July, 2008

The beer equivalent of the WSET has finalised its structure and is now looking for funding, after a summer pilot course proved successful with both students and the beer industry. The Beer Academy will offer three course formats - 2.5 hours, one day and three day - and will be under trial between October and March by companies such as Beer Seller, Coors, Interbrew, Safeway and Charles Wells. The official launch of the Academy will take place in Spring 2004. The Academy hopes to be self-financing after one year but needs 100,000 to pump prime the scheme'. Founding patrons are being asked for support on a similar basis to the WSET', said a spokesperson.
