An old music hall on Islington's Upper Street is opening its doors to host what it claims is the UK's first-ever permanent series of monthly pop-up chef residencies.
House of Wolf will open on October 5 inside the City of London's first listed music hall. The three-storey Victorian venue will showcase some of the UK's leading chefs and culinary artists, and offer a mix of experimental dining, drinking and live entertainment.
Dining will take place in both the Attic Room and Parlour, with the latter available for private dining and the option of additional bespoke entertainments.
The Apothecary Bar, which will serve "experimental elixirs", will feature a cocktail list that combines traditional Victorian recipes with modern preparation techniques. A fully stocked bar will also be operation in the Wolf Den & Music Hall, which will feature a programme of creative events throughout the week from vaudeville cabaret and literary salons, to performance theatre and parties.
Founded by Damian Frizzell and Jennifer Anderson-Mann of Madame Geisha, House of Wolf is the third venue opening for the pair and their first London-based launch. They are joined by a third director, Matthew Fleming, who will oversee food and beverage operations, bringing with him his experience as former bar manager at Shoreditch House and general manager for Proud Group.
Their new team includes head mixologist and bar manager Stephen Quainton, formerly bar manager at Soho House; Alexa Perrin, founder of the Experimental Food Society, who will manage the schedule of guest chef residencies; and Emma Sutton of Fuse Box Media, who will oversee House of Wolf's events and parties.
Frizzell said: "We are very excited about the imminent launch of House of Wolf, an original concept which we hope will become a truly creative addition to London's vibrant scene."
