South African cream liqueur Amarula has teamed up with celebrity chef Jo Pratt to develop a series of recipes for the UK on-trade.
The brand, which is distributed by Cellar Trends in the UK, has partnered with Pratt to design eight dishes that feature Amarula as a key ingredient and highlight the versatility of the drink.
From rustic chicken, mushroom and leek Amarula potpies, to a decedent Amarula Eton Mess, Pratt's recipes suit a variety of menu styles. They have been developed to encourage on-trade venues to feature a product on the food menu that is already stocked behind the bar.
Amarula brand manager, Katie Jones, said: "Served on its own, over ice, Amarula is the ultimate after dinner drink, but its versatility also extends to the kitchen. With the specialities category showing continued growth, partly due to the strong sales of cream liqueurs which are up 12% in the UK on-trade sector, communicating the versatility of Amarula only strengthens the brand's offering in the UK on trade."
Among the selection of dishes are African rarebit mini toasts; pan-fried sea bass with Amarula & chilli butter; sticky Amarula toffee popcorn; and spiced hot chocolate.
