Results for this year's International Wine Challenge Library Collection 2006 and 2001 vintages have been announced, with Italian wines taking the top slots

The IWC Library Collection scores five and 10 year old wines under the 100 point scoring system, in order to demonstrate the merits of premium wines and their cellaring potential.

For the 2001 vintage the Col D'Orica Brunello Di Montelcino, Tuscany scored 95/100 and for the 2006; Fattoria Varramista Varramista, Tuscany scored, 96/100.

The judging integrity at the IWC Library Collection follows the same process as established at the IWC, with wines judged blind by a panel of experts including resident chairmen, Tim Atkin MW and Charles Metcalfe.

A good score in the IWC Library Collection allows a wine to generate positive PR and marketing with results listed in the World's Best Wine Guide.

Top scorers include:

Col D'Orica Brunello Di Montelcino, 2001 Tuscany. 95/100

Kozlovi? Santa Lucia, Istria, Croatia 2001 94/100
