Crewe-based Rodney Densem is to ramp up its coverage across the country with the purchase of Shropshire wholesaler Telford Wines.
The new venture will increase the group distribution to include an area from the South Lakes through Liverpool and the Wirral to North Wales together with Lancashire, Cheshire, Shropshire, Worcestershire, Northamptonshire and Derbyshire, with all deliveries using their own vehicles.
Orders to elsewhere in the UK will be delivered by carriers.
The two companies will continue to trade under their existing names from depots in Crewe and Telford with the head office at Crewe. The management teams will remain, as will all staff.
Both companies will remain as on-trade wholesalers, and customers will receive extra information early in 2012.
Keith Knight, a principal partner of Alextra accountants, will join as a non-executive director on a consultancy basis.
