ProWein is to open an additional hall at its Düsseldorf's exhibition centre due to exhibitor demand.
The tried and tested structure that segments the different wine producing countries is be maintained, but the central Tasting Zone will shift into the newly added hall located near the North/Nord entrance.
The organic wine section, which has seen steady growth over the past few years, will now be featured here on a concentrated platform.
The international wine and spirits fair that runs from 4 to 6 March, is expecting 3,700 exhibitors in 2012.
Alongside the typically strong presentations from the likes of Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria and Portugal and more recently, Brazil, China, India and Japan the fair will now feature wine from Kosovo.
Other interesting newcomers in 2012 include Fratelli Martini & Gancia from Italy as well as the Irish Food Board in the spirits section.
New World countries will also be comprehensively represented and the "Down2Earth" project featuring the wine nations/regions of Argentina, California, Chile, New Zealand and South Africa.
Hans Werner Reinhard, deputy managing director of Messe Düsseldorf, said: "This growing demand impressively underlines the leading position of ProWein: the international wine and spirits sector wishes to present a comprehensive overview because ProWein is the only fair to attract international decision-makers across retail worldwide."
