Bibendum has moved its warehousing and distribution contract from London City Bond to Tradeteam.
Bibendum has moved its warehousing and distribution contract from London City Bond to Tradeteam.
LCB has been Bibendum's exclusive logistics and distribution partner since 1994, but the supplier decided during a strategic review of operations that its future needs would be better served by a larger, international logistics partner.
Tradeteam has been awarded a three year contract and designing a new service which will operate from south west London in order to meet Bibendum's requirements.
Bibendum and LCB will work together with Tradeteam during the transition phase, until all stock and operations have been transferred. This is expected to have been completed by February 2012.
Bibendum's will continue to store its customers' private reserves at LCB's Vinotheque warehouse.
Alf Allington, managing director of LCB, said: "During my conversations with Michael Saunders, it became increasingly clear that the two companies' future business strategies were not sufficiently aligned and hence we reluctantly accept Bibendum's decision to move to a new partner."
Bob Smyllie, Bibendum's director of operations, said: "We are very grateful to LCB for all their effort and dedication over the past 17 years. We are very proud of what we have achieved together; and now look forward to working with our new partners at Tradeteam."
