Hélène Darroze has been awarded a second Michelin star for her restaurant, Hélène Darroze at the Connaught.
It makes Darroze the only female chef patron in the UK with two Michelin stars.
A 4th generation descendent of a long line of chefs, she began her official culinary career in 1990 when she worked as right hand woman to Alain Ducasse in Monte Carlo.
She then went on to run her family's Villeneuve-de-Marsan restaurant before opening her own establishment 'Hélène Darroze' in Paris in 1999.
Hélène Darroze at the Connaught opened July 2008 and was awarded its first Michelin star six months after opening.
She has created a loyal following with her menu which combines traditional produce from her native Les Landes in South West France, coupled with some of the finest ingredients from the British Isles.
Darroze said: "It is a huge honour to be awarded two Michelin stars for my restaurant and this reflects my team's dedication to achieve the best. From day one, The Connaught has fully trusted me and given me complete freedom to create a menu with dishes that I truly love. I live by the philosophy that the ingredients are the stars and you must treat them respectfully."
