UK independent specialist drinks retailer First Quench Retailing has announced the resignation of chief executive officer Yvonne Rankin due to ill health.

Rankin joined the firm in 2007 and is understood to have been on long-term sick leave.

Chief financial officer Martin Healy has been deputising and will continue in the role of acting chief executive, the statement added.
