Leading Argentinian organic winery Domaine Bousquet has announced the launch of Native, a new range of natural wines which contains Bousquet’s first ever orange wine – a 100% Torrontes created with skin-contact maceration.
All three wines in the range were made without added sulphites and using a minimalist approach that included the use of yeasts native to Mendoza’s Valle de Uco.
The other two wines – a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Malbec – were aged for six months, with 50% of the blend aged in third and fourth use French oak barrels and the remainder in stainless steel and concrete.
Anne Bousquet (pictured), co-CEO and co-owner, explained: “With Native, the intention has been to create a range which really epitomises our sustainable approach to winemaking; minimal intervention allows the positive benefits of organic farming to shine through in the wines, and the result is exceptional fruit purity, energy and terroir expression.
“We are particularly proud of the new labels. For many consumers, packaging is the first point of contact with a wine's story and with Native, it is the opening line of the sustainability narrative. The eye-catching label is intended to draw new, curious consumers into the sustainable wine category.”
Native’s packaging is intended to be a deliberate departure from the rest of the Domaine Bosquet portfolio, taking a modern approach that puts the organic message front and centre.
Additionally, all the wines were bottled in lightweight glass, continuing the producer’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint – the orange wine’s bottle weighs 400g, while both the Cabernet and the Malbec’s bottles weight 365g.

The three wines will be shown off at Sustainability in Drinks (SID) on 20 October. Native will be available to off-trade specialists, wine merchants and premium supermarkets via importer Enotria, retailing between £16.50-£19.
Domaine Bosquet is a leader in the organic wine category, becoming the first winery outside the US (and the fourth winery in the world) to earn Regenerative Organic Certified status in 2022.
It remains Argentina’s largest exporter of certified organic wines.
