CHIANTI CLASSICO DEFINITIVE WINNERS

11th July tasting in London
The third "Definitive Italian Wine Tasting" took place at Chelsea Village Galleria in London on 11 July. More than 40 of the UK's leading importers of Italian wine exhibited selections from their Italian portfolios. This year's special theme tasting was Chianti Classico, in which 68 wines were entered by companies exhibiting at the event. All tasters were requested to vote for their favourite wine in the Chianti Classico line-up, and the following results were deemed the "stars" of the tasting: 1st - 1999 Chianti Classico, Tenuta Fontodi (Liberty Wines) 2nd - 1999 Chianti Classico, Fonterutoli 3rd - 1997 Castello di Fonterutoli, Chianti Classico (both Enotria Winecellars)
