The team behind venues such as White Lyan, Cub, and current World’s Best Bar, Dandelyan, have revealed even more ambitious plans for 2019.
Ryan Chetiyawardana and Iain Griffiths recently outlined some of the projects that the team is currently working on, including some outside of London.
Super Lyan is set to move to Amsterdam, adapting to suit its new location, while the former space on London’s Hoxton Street will become a fermentation lab and office.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that London will be getting a new venue in March, Lyaness, in place of Dandelyan, whose end was announced just days before receiving the accolade of World’s Best Bar last year.
Finally, Washington DC will be home to a brand new concept launching this year, Silver Lyan.
“We always wanted to have diverse projects – something that felt authentic, and as a compliment to the other wonderful, passionate projects out there, and to create platforms for the team to do their amazingness day in day out,” the team explained in the announcement.
Never ones to shy away from ending a project and moving on to the next, the team confirmed that Cub, at least, is safe for the time being. Adding “look out for zombie versions coming to life soon”, it seems likely that past venues will be resurrected in some form too.
Along with plans for new and existing sites, some changes to the teams across the group’s various venues were announced, including the appointment of Alex Lawrence as the first Group Lyan bar manager.
