Hedgepig fruit gin liqueurs expands range

Published:  12 November, 2018

Ginmeister, the company behind Pinkster gin, has expanded its range of Hedgepig fruit gin liqueurs with three new variants.

The new trio - Cambridge Gage, Glorious Gooseberry, and Zesty Elderflower, joins the existing Rampant Raspberry, Wild Bullace and Quince small-batch liqueurs.

Hedgepig is being promoted by parent company Ginmeister as a pudding gin with all of the three new variants suited to accompanying both cheese and desserts.

“All the liqueurs are macerated at our HQ outside Cambridge using fruit grown in local orchards or foraged from East Anglian hedgerows. We’ve kept sugar levels low and abv on the higher side,” said Stephen Marsh, managing director of Ginmeister.

“The proof is in the pudding, but we’re convinced it’s been well worth the effort rummaging around on our hands and knees to find the perfect ingredients.”

In a new charitable partnership, 50p from every bottle sale across the range will be donated to The British Hedgehog Preservation Society.

The partnership is being promoted by bottle stickers and supporting point-of-sale.

“The plight of the hedgehog makes for desperate reading. In rural areas, numbers have fallen by half over the past two decades,” said Marsh.

The Cambridge Gage has a 28% abv, Glorious Gooseberry 27% abv, with Zesty Elderflower at 29.8% abv. They are are available in 50cl format and come with a £36 price tag.
