Copestick Murray adds first Champagne to I Heart portfolio

Published:  10 September, 2018

Copestick Murray, owned by German group Henkell which recently purchased Freixenet to form the world’s largest sparkling wine supplier, has added the first Champagne to its I Heart range to replicate the success of the brand’s Prosecco.

Produced in partnership with family run Champagne house Didier Chopin, the new fizz (rrp: £23) is described as a “great quality wine at great value”.

Building on the popularity of the sparkling category and the “phenomenal success” of I Heart Prosecco, the I Heart Didier Chopin Champagne was the perfect addition to the range, said managing director Robin Copestick, adding the launch would broaden the brand’s appeal.

“Following the recent merger between Copestick Murray and Freixenet, I Heart Champagne Didier Chopin is a perfectly timed launch from what is now the UK’s biggest sparkling wine supplier,” he said.

The launch would add a new dimension to the range and “excite and inspire” the current I Heart consumer, while also attracting new customers to the brand, he added.

Launched in 2010 by Copestick Murray, I Heart has grown to become worth £70 million RSV - up 45% year-on-year, with I Heart Pinot Grigio and I Heart Prosecco the UK’s favourite in the impulse sector (IRI MAT to 17 June 2018).

I Heart Didier Chopin Champagne is available in Tesco now and will roll out into Sainsbury's and Wine Rack throughout the next couple of weeks.
