Jascots adds four new green producers

Published:  09 August, 2018

Jascots is poised to add four new environmentally friendly producers to its portfolio as part of its strategy to focus on sustainability

The new additions comprise the naturally made biodynamic wines of Mas des Caprices in Fitou, still wines and ports from the family-owned Vieira da Sousa estate in Douro; organic indigenous Catalan varietal wines and premium traditional method Cavas from Can Descregut alongside dry and sweet wines from Hungarian producer Zsirai.

The wineries were a perfect fit for Jascots, with each of them sharing the ocmpany’s commitment to sustainability, said purchasing & channel strategy director Adam Porter.

“These growers combine sustainable vinification and low intervention winemaking with redefining regional traditions,” he said, adding they had also been picked due to the “exceptional high quality” of their wines.

“Our research and insight clearly shows us that wine drinkers in UK are thirsty to discover new producers with authentic and delicious wines,’ he said.

The quartet will be launched at Jascots’ annual tasting on 25 September alongside another 50 new additions.

Founded in 1991, Jascots has grown its turnover to more than £9 million following a management buyout in 2016. Focused on the on-trade, clients include Temper Restaurants, Social Eating House and Restaurant Associates.
