Emporia Brands has expanded its portfolio with a raft of rums alongside a mustard liqueur.
The newcomers, which join the drinks distributor’s stable this month, comprises Bounty – a range of six rums; a new range from rum brand Admiral Rodney and a mustard-based liqueur from Gabriel Boudier.
Making its UK debut Bounty Rum, which consists of Premium Gold, Premium White and Bounty Dark alongside three flavoured tipples – Spiced, Coconut and Lime, will be launched during Notting Hill Carnival (26/27 August).
Each of the rums are aged for two years before bottling and are blended with distillates from Saint Lucia Distillers’ unique Coffey still with the exception of Bounty Dark which has some pot still to give further character and complexity.
“Having launched Chairman’s Reserve into the UK and becoming the number one export market for this great brand from Saint Lucia Distillers, we are excited by the new proposition the Bounty rum range provides,” said Jack Rackham, managing director, Emporia Brands.
Launched in the UK in 2009 by Emporia brands, the premium Admiral Rodney Extra Old Saint Lucia Rum – also from Saint Lucia Distillers, will be joined by HMS Princessa - a new brand that includes three blends - HMS Princessa - aged for five to nine years, HMS Royal Oak - aged for seven to 12 years and HMS Formidable - aged between nine to 12 years.
The addition of HMS Princessa formed part of Emporia’s ambition to build the “super premium” rum market in the UK, said Rackham.
The mustard liqueur from Gabriel Boudier is the result of the independent Dijon-based producer challenging the UK’s bartenders earlier in the year to create a new liqueur to join its range.
The 2018 winner was Maria Vieira from East London Liquor Company with her homage to Dijon’s other iconic product, mustard.
