wine-pages.com is top of the pile
An Internet poll has been running to find the world's top 100 wine-related websites, as voted for by the public (http://100-top-sites.com/rank/winesites. shtml). Independent UK wine site wine-pages.com is top of the pile, having attracted 1,000 votes in two weeks. The website has beaten a chasing pack, that includes big names like the Wine Spectator online, to become the world's most popular wine site. Publisher and Harpers contributor Tom Cannavan said: "Voters are asked to award between one and five stars to each site they vote for. We are delighted to have an average score of 4.75, which is the highest for any top 25 site, and is a really nice endorsement of our six years on the Net". Winepages claims to be one of the world's most popular online wine magazines, with more than 35,000 hits on its home page each month; over 300,000 pages downloaded in total each month; and a subscribers list of 13,000. wine-pages.com is updated daily and also houses the popular UK Wine Forum.
