Lynne Coyle, the last member of the pioneering team of buyers who between them made Oddbins the most exciting of the multiple specialists during the nineties, has quit the retailer.
Coyle, who was head of buying, had been on the buying team for ten years, and with the company for 18 years, said she was leaving Oddbins to pursue new challenges'. She added: Over the years I have been very fortunate to have worked with some of the most talented and creative people in our industry. I am confident that I leave the buying department in capable hands and that the range will continue to grow and improve. Oddbins is widely respected in our trade, and this position has been brought about by the enthusiasm hard work and commitment of everyone involved in the business.'
An Oddbins spokeswoman said that the process to find Coyle's successor was underway, and that both internal and external candidates are being considered.
