Published:  30 November, 2016

Lucas Bols has appointed Michael Mann, formerly of the City of London Distillery, as its UK brand ambassador.

Mann will be based in London and will be responsible for both Bols Genever and the Galliano range of Italian liqueurs.

Johna Penman, UK brand marketing controller at Maxxium, which distributes Lucas Bols, said: "We are confident that as the Lucas Bols UK brand ambassador Michael will be successful in sharing the passion and creativity behind the Bols and Galliano ranges as we look forward to the year ahead.

"With his industry knowledge and spirits expertise, Michael is the ideal candidate to spread the inspiring stories of Genever and Galliano."

Mann said: "This is an incredible opportunity and I'm thrilled to be the UK brand ambassador for Lucas Bols. I am a true fan of Genever and Galliano and think they are exceptional liquids.

"Genever is a global icon?history in a bottle?and Galliano is an exciting aperitif with complex flavours. I look forward to inspiring and educating my peers and further exploring what makes these brands so special."

Mann takes over the role from John Parsons, who held the position for five years.

Lucas Bols is one of the world's oldest distilled spirits brands, with a heritage dating back to 1575. Its products are sold in more than 110 countries around the world.

Bols Genever was re-launched in 2008 using an original recipe dating back to the 1820s.

Galliano was created in Tuscany in 1896 by Arturo Vaccari.
