From the same team behind the London Wine Fair, The Epicurean, the first direct to consumer event for the group, has appointed three drinks ambassadors as part of the larger event set to be hosted at the end of October.
Spirits and cocktail expert Alice Lascelles, author of the book "Ten Cocktails: The Art of Convivial Drinking" has joined as the Spirits Ambassador. Joe Wadsack, a TV wine presenter, previously of BBC Two's Food & Drink show, has been appointed the Wine Ambassador. Beer Ambassador, Sophie Atherton, the UK's first female beer sommelier, is the third ambassador to be appointed.
The ambassadors will be on hand over the two day event to host talks and help to answer consumer questions.
The event is to be held at the Truman Brewery on Friday 28th of October and Saturday the 29th of October.
The Epicurean
"The Epicurean is about tasting, craftsmanship and discovery; it's a celebration of hand crafted products, it's a place where your enjoyment of food and drink comes above all else."
The event will have unlimited tasting for attendees for both food and drinks with over a hound beer, wines, spirits and food to be sampled."
So far the event has over 90 exhibitors that have signed up from brands, retailers and importers.
Some exhibitors include Alpine Wines, Berry Bros & Rudd, Brighton Gin, Caviar Artisan, Elements Eight Rum, Fordham & Dominion, Gin Lane 1751, Hugel, Knightor Vermouth, London Cru, Luss Smokehouse, New York Wine, Red Squirrel, Tengu Sake,The Prosecco Project, and Wild Card Brewery.
The event will also allow for those exhibiting to sell directly to consumers as well and if six or more bottles are purchased at the event regardless if they are from the same exhibitor or not can be shipped to customers before Christmas.
Tickers are currently on sale for £25 per person and are for specific sessions.
