Cointreau launches £20,000 creativity award

The Cointreau Creative Crew launched a £20,000 grant scheme to champion creativity and artistic innovation worldwide this week.

The competition will run until Friday, April 15 and is open to anyone over the age of 25.

Entries are invited with no criteria other than that the proposal matches Cointreau Creative Crew's Dream, Dare, Create vision.

Participants will have to write 500 words about their particular talent and how the Cointreau Grant will help them to achieve their ambitions.

Entries will be judged on how ambitious, avant-garde and authentic they are, how innovative and driven the entrants are, and on the quality of the presentations together with the elements required to make their vision a reality.

One project only will be accepted from each entrant.

The first round of judging will whittle the nominations down to ten finalists, who will be asked to present their projects to the Cointreau Creative Crew grand jury at an event in central London on May 24.

Cointreau's creative director, the actress and model Laetitia Casta, will lead an expert panel for the first round of judging.

The panel includes include Eleonore Moreau and Alfred Cointreau, respectively UK marketing director and brand heritage manager at Rémy Cointreau; TV personality and philanthropist Nick Ede; Emmy-award-winning producer and director Susan Steinberg; bloggers Camille Charriere of Over the Rainbow and Lucy Williams of Fashion Me Now; actresses Kathryn Drysdale and Karen Bryson; jewellery designer Sheeva Moshiri; artist Charlie Herman; and writer and performer Karen Ruimy.

The grand jury will comprise of Laetitia Casta; Valérie Chapoulaud-Floquet, chief executive of Rémy Cointreau; UNESCO artist for peace Guila Clara Kessous; Ed Burstell, managing director of Liberty of London; and Jo Elvin, editor of Glamour UK magazine.

As well as the grant award, the jury will also reveal the competition participant with the most online votes, who will win a trip to Paris that includes a private visit of the Alexis Mabille Atelier, a dream interpretation session, and an evening in a some of Paris's trendiest bars and restaurants.

The Cointreau Creative Crew was launched last year as part of a worldwide philanthropic programme from the company.
