Farr Vintners acquires Jackson Fine Wines

Published:  08 December, 2015

Leading fine wine merchant Farr Vintners has bought Jackson Fine Wines for an undisclosed, following the retirement of chief executive, Kit Jackson.

The acquisition includes both the business and the management of Jackson Fine Wines' customer portfolios.

Last year, Farr Vintners acquired Magnum Fine Wines on the retirement of owner Alan Rayne.

The total value of customer reserves under management at Farr Vintners is now around £300 million.

The company stores its wines - and those of its customers - at Octavian Vaults in Wiltshire, facilities it shared with both Magnum and Jackson Fine Wines.

Tom Hudson, director of Farr Vintners, said: "We have had an excellent business relationship with Jackson Fine Wines for many years and there is an obvious 'fit' with the wines held for ex-Jackson customers and our own trading activities.

"We are honoured that Kit Jackson has chosen to entrust Farr Vintners to look after the best interests of his customers going forward."

Established in 1978, Farr Vintners is now one of the world's leading wholesale fine wine merchants.

It opened a Hong Kong office to service the Asian market in 1995.
