ORLANDO WYNDHAM SELLS STAKE IN MCGUIGAN

Orlando Wyndham, the Australian subsidiary of Pernod Ricard and maker of Jacob's Creek and Wyndham Estate, has sold its shareholding in McGuigan Simeon, an Australian wine group quoted on the Australian Stock Exchange. Orlando Wyndham, the largest Australian wine and spirits company, held 5.9% (6.45 million shares) of the share capital of McGuigan Simeon Wines Ltd, which were sold at A$4.90 (e2.85) on 27 September. The transaction amounted to A$31.61 million (e18.36 million). McGuigan Simeon Wines is the fifth-largest Australian wine group and the third-largest quoted Australian wine company. The group achieved sales of A$323.8 million and net profit of A$40.2 million at 30 June. Orlando Wyndham, which claims to be Australia's biggest wine and spirits company, has become the Australian distributor for Champagne marque Laurent-Perrier. It will offer four wines: the flagship Brut LP, 1996 Brut Vintage, Cuve Rose Brut, the world's best-selling Ros Champagne, and Grande Sicle La Cuve'.
