The Benevolent, the Drinks Industry Charity, announced changes last week at the AGM on July 30 to the Board of Trustees with Christopher Carson and Tony Dee both stepping down and the appointments of Andrew Hawes of Mentzendorff, John Mills formerly of InterContinental Brands (ICB) Ltd. and Dan Townsend of Treasury Wine Estates.
The three new trustees bring a wealth of experience and both Dee and Carson have been involved with The Benevolent since 1993. They were also instrumental in the re-launch and revitalisation of the charity, which began last year.
"They are all well known and influential figures within the trade and bring with them unparalleled experience and knowledge of the drinks industry. Their appointment is a reflection of the on-going revitalisation of The Benevolent and a clear demonstration that the trade charity is actively re-engaging with the trade," said The Benevolent Chairman, Chris Porter.
