The Bureau National Interprofessionnel de l'Armagnac (BINA) is to hold a generic Armagnac tasting at the RAF Club, in London's Piccadilly, next month.
Specifically aimed at the on-trade, twelve Armagnac houses will be represented and each one will be presenting up to seven different styles of Armagnac from the Bas-Armagnac and Armagnac Tenarèze appellation zones.
Spirits specialist Mark Ridgwell, who has just launched his book Spirits Explained, will also be holding a masterclass to explain Armagnac in depth and take the guests through a tasting of several age categories.
A BNIA spokesperson said: "This is the perfect opportunity for bartenders and sommeliers alike to increase their knowledge of Armagnac, France's oldest brandy.
"They will be amazed by the wide spectrum of flavours and aromas, and will learn how best to serve it."
The tasting will be held on May 23 from 3.30pm to 6.30pm.
