Kingsland Wines & Spirits has installed solar panels on its roof which will provide up to 70% of the factory's energy.
The UK bottler and distributor has also switched 75% of its factory and warehouse lighting to high frequency and low energy fittings, which it said will halve its lighting energy consumption. The bulbs last three times longer and are controlled to only come on at night where possible.
"Kingsland endeavour to continue its environmentally-conscious initiatives across its entire business operations. We have chosen to install the solar panels and light fittings to support our ongoing plans of considering the environment within our strategies, practices and products," said manufacturing director Mark Dixon.
