Groundbreaking wine show set for London in 2013

Published:  22 October, 2012

A radical new event format for the UK wine trade is set to launch on September 24, 2013 at London's Royal Albert Hall.

London 2013 has been created to provide a business forum where international producers, UK agents and distributors can hold focused meetings with key buyers in a timely and cost-effective way, away from the distraction of those without buying authority.

The event will operate on an invitation-only policy to UK buyers from all routes to market (on and off-trade, independent and multiple), with the strict criteria that they must have current purchasing power.

The event will be hosted by William Reed Business Media, publisher of Harpers and organisers of the IWC.

Andrew Reed, managing director of events at WRBM, said: "The wine trade
has been looking for an event where they can cost effectively meet genuine buyers, who in turn wish to attend an event that can answer their specific category issues in relative privacy. London 2013 will organise appointments via an online booking system to enable seamless time management."

He added: "In booking the Albert Hall I now find myself being described as a concert promoter. This new and exclusive business event will certainly give the trade something to sing about."
