Tesco takes on first English wine for Finest range

Denbies Wine Estate, in Surrey has released its English White 2011, which is the first English wine to be produced exclusively for the Tesco Finest range.

Denbies was invited to produce the wine for the 2011 Finest range which comprises over 100 products.

A blend of Ortega, Reichensteiner and Chardonnay grown on the estate were used in the production which has resulted in a dry, refreshing white aimed to go well with dressed crab, lobster, light chicken dishes or fish, such as sea bass or sole.

Christopher White, general manager of Denbies Wine Estate, said: "Being selected by one of the world's largest retailers to join their Finest range represents a significant milestone for Denbies and English wines in general."

Established in 1986, Denbies Wine Estate is family owned and run and is England's largest vineyard.
