The Benevolent charity cycle ride fundraisers organised by Mentzendorff, have completed their first day and are mid-way through their second.
The team is being lead by Mentzendorff's Andrew Hawes and Alan Montague-Dennis who on June 6 set off on their sixth annual trip to Champagne.
Others participants include William Reed's drinks managing director, Andrew Reed, WaverleyTBS's head of wine, Neil Bruce, Eddie Hart of the Hart Restaurant Group, Ian Harris of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and financier Jamie Alsopp.
The first part of the charity ride was the 40km from Calais to St Omer on Sunday afternoon was peppered with a touch of drama after the team got lost and ended up cycling on a dual-carriageway.
It was a first for the 6th Mentzendorff ride and added an extra 20km to their journey.
