Eileen Halewood dies
The funeral took place last Friday of Eileen Halewood, co-shareholder and founder of Halewood Vintners Ltd, now Halewood International Holdings Plc.
Eileen Halewood, 87, was said to be well known to many Halewood customers and friends for her cheerfulness and good humour.
She started the company in 1978 alongside her son John.
Paying tribute to his mother, John Halewood, chairman of Halewood International, said: "She was a much loved lady who took an active interest in what happened in the business. Her Irish heritage gave her great spirit and determination, and she was an inspiration to all who knew her."
Now based in Merseyside, Halewood International, is now the UK's largest independent drinks manufacturer and distributor with a turnover in excess of £250 million and more than 1,500 employees worldwide.
