Jancis Robinson MW is addressing the stigma associated with German wines this week.

"There are a new generation of wine-drinkers whose perceptions of Riesling and German wines are unclouded by teenage memories of Niersteiner Gutes Domtal and Piersporter Michelsburg." In fact, they are much more likely to have cut their teeth drinking cheap US and Australian Chardonnay, she adds. But they are missing out, Robinson feels, as "fine dry German wine must represent some of the world's best bargains"
