Australian wine exports drop

Published:  23 July, 2008

Wine exports from Australia have dropped for the first time in 12 years, new figures show.

Data from the Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation said last year's harvest was affected by drought which meant a slight drop in volumes, reports ABC News.

In the last year, Australia exported 770 million litres of wine - a slight fall on the previous year.

The value of exports rose however to just shy of 3 billion dollars.
