C&C acquires Nectar Imports from Asahi UK

Published:  11 September, 2026

C&C Group has unveiled that it has purchased wholesaler Nectar Imports from Asahi UK, with the newly acquired business set to be folded into the Matthew Clark Bibendum (MCB) operation.

Completion of the deal between the two companies is anticipated to take place in October. The move will see Nectar’s customers and supplier contracts – as well as the lease on its Hindon, Wiltshire depot – come under C&C’s ownership.

C&C added that the acquisition “also includes vehicles, stock, operating assets, technology and systems associated with the business and operations”.

A significant aspect of the agreement is that the supply arrangements to the Fuller Smith Turner on-trade estate will be fully included in the deal.

CEO of C&C Group Roger White said of the agreement: “This move represents an attractive opportunity to provide a significant number of new customers with MCB market leading service and range proposition. At the same time driving immediate scale and efficiency into the Group operations.

“We expect the majority of the customer and supplier transitions to be completed with pace in the coming weeks, and we look forward to welcoming this group of new partners into our business.”

MD of Asahi UK Tim Clay added: “This agreement represents an important strategic step for Asahi UK. Following a thorough review of Nectar Imports and the evolving market landscape, we concluded that Matthew Clark Bibendum is the right long-term home for both our Nectar and our existing direct distribution customers.”
