...and EastEnders fires a warning to Wyndham

Published:  23 July, 2008

Complaints about service

Dave West, owner of EastEnders, the Calais cash and carry operation, has written to Orlando Wyndham in Australia to complain about the service he receives from Caxton Wines. In a letter to Christian Porta, copied to Harpers, West says EastEnders bought more than 750,000 worth of wine, 36% up on the previous year. But there was a "lack of continuity", which left the company "uninformed or alternatively misinformed about events, promotions and availability". He states that explanations for difficulties in obtaining Wyndham Bin 555 have been "completely contradictory". West told Harpers he had recognised the need always to have someone at base dealing with customer service, each business group having an assistant in the new structure. Business group director Ian Davidson would be taking up any further issues.
