Armit Wines releases Pieve Santa Restituta 2013

Published:  19 February, 2018

Armit Wines has announced the 2013 release from Pieve Santa Restituta.

The release, which this year comprises three 2013 single vineyard wines - Rennina, Sugarille and Brunello di Montalcino, is produced from the vineyards immediately surrounding the Pieve - located in the south west part of Montalcino, and grapes from a vineyard further north in Torrenieri.

Available from tomorrow (20th February), the trio is described as “intense and powerful, yet elegant and refined”, with a “fantastic ability for long ageing”.

The combination of complex micro-climates and soils created “wonderfully elegant wines”, said James Snoxell, head of buying, Armit Wines.

“Known for their uncompromising demand for quality, only the Brunello di Montalcino was produced in 2012 given the difficult nature of the vintage. The 2013 vintage however will be remembered all over Italy as a vintage of elegance with the wines from Montalcino displaying round bodies, silky tannins and intense fruit concentration,’ he said.

Armit Wines has been working with Pieve Santa Restituta since the Gaja family bought the estate in 1994.

The latest release from Armit Wines follows the release of the 2009 vintage of La Rioja Alta's Gran Reserva 904 in December last year.
