Champagne house Vranken Pommery Monopole is releasing a range of 2015 vintage rosés from its Camargue and Provence vineayards on the UK market as the popularity of drier, Provence-style rosés continues to grow.
VPM is one of the leading rosé producers in France, where rosé has overtaken white as the second-choice wine after red.
From its Château La Gordonne estate in Provence comes La Chapelle Gordonne Rosé and Verite du Terroir Rosé, both of which took home gold medals from the Vinalies Internationales 2015, and Cirque des Grives.
These are accompanied by two quirkier wines from VPM's Domaine Royal de Jarras estate in the Camargue: Commandeur de Jarras, a blend of Grenache gris and black Grenache from vines planted in the sands of the Carmargue, and Pink Flamingo.
Bruno Mailliard, winemaker at Vranken Pommery Monopole, said: "Provence rosé volume imports into the UK increased by 37% last year - reflecting the growing popularity of dry pale rosé wines.
"Our wines from the Camargue offer the rosé lover this style of wine from a new and exciting region."
Vranken Estates' rosés are available from a Justerini & Brooks, Matthew Clark and a number of other suppliers.
The value of Provence rosés sales in the UK increased by 11% in 2015, according to figures from regional marketing body, the Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins de Provence.
In the same period, sales volumes of French wine and spirits exports declined by 3.6%.
